Loc Maintenance

Afterward, natural oils—often light blends like jojoba, sweet almond, olive oil, coconut, tea tree, etcetera—are massaged into the scalp and along the locs, restoring moisture, nourishing growth, and adding a subtle sheen.
Then comes the sculpting stage: for those who choose palm rolling, each loc is rolled firmly between the stylist’s hands, coaxing loose hairs into alignment and refining the cylindrical shape; for interlocking, a tool or the fingers weave the new growth through the base of each loc, tightening and securing them with precision.
